Flying Dutchman–about that “End Part One”

First off, I want to thank everyone for buying, reading, and enjoying the Sunset Station books. I’ve had a blast writing them so far, and I appreciate the enthusiasm!

I wanted to drop a quick note on something at the very end of book three, Flying Dutchman, that may have been misinterpreted. Specifically, the last words:

END PART ONE

I inserted this on the last edit, because I wanted a way to signal to you, the reader, that the first three books constituted the first part of this story, and should be viewed as such. What I did not mean to say—but which I now appreciate it sounds like I may be saying—is that I broke book three into two parts, and a second part would be coming along shortly.

This interpretation (for which I take all of the blame) unfortunately conveys the exact opposite of what I was trying to say. What I was trying to say was, there will be some time between books here. Not a lot of time, but time. Why? Three reasons.

  1. I have a new standalone novel I really need to finish first
  2. I am overdue for a fifth Tandemstar book
  3. I don’t know what happens next.

Don’t worry about #3: this is how I write everything. But I do need to give my brain some time to come up with more than I have so far, because I don’t have enough yet to start writing. (It will wake me up at 4 AM to do this; my brain is an asshole.)

Again, sorry if that ending was confusing. I will be back with more, just not right away. I am writing as fast as I can!
