Immortal: a detailed analysis (open discussion)

Deconstructing Immortal

Today I would like to direct your eyes to– and steal some of your time with– a lengthy analysis of Immortal by author Jacqueline Lichtenberg.  Jacqueline has some strong opinions about the novel, and approaches it from a different perspective.  She also draws a few unusual (in my mind) conclusions.

You can read the whole thing here.

Please comment, especially if you have read Immortal and have an opinion you’d like to share.  The point of the piece is to initiate a discussion.  And if you are wondering why I am not responding myself… I have.  My reaction to the points raised this week will post in a separate blog entry on January 25th.  Until then, you the reader (or prospective reader) will have a voice in the conversation.

Gene, I went over and added my .02 after getting home from work. I think Angela and WotV said it better than I ever could. But I still made my voice heard.

I’m tied up in knots. I have known and admired Jacqueline Lichtenberg for many years, and have been thrilled by her being supposrtive of the 4 novels that I serialized on Facebook.

On the other hand, I loved Immortal by Gened Doucette. Somehow, I read it differently from Jacqueline Lichtenberg.

So, rather than try to compromise and triabgulate, I’ll have to come back here later — I have a REALLY busy day today — and see what I can constructively.
